Uniform Policy
Students in Kindergarten through 12th grade are required to wear uniforms to school. Preschool and Pre-K students do not wear uniforms (they should wear play clothes every day).
Parents are responsible for ensuring that students are compliant with the school uniform policy. Please make every effort to purchase items that fall within the guidelines and check before your student leaves the house to make sure they are wearing uniform-approved items.

Uniform Rationale
Our desire at Westlake Christian Academy is to do all things in a way pleasing to the Lord and in a manner that will honor Him (Colossians 3:12; 17; Philippians 2:2-4).
The uniform dress code at Westlake provides a number of benefits:
- It encourages a sense of unity and camaraderie among the students.
- It fosters respect to the school environment and an atmosphere conducive to learning.
- It is a means of building character and distinction in the lives of our students. It trains them to make choices within guidelines, encouraging modesty and a well-groomed appearance.
- It allows for quicker identification of our students, thus adding another level of security.
Uniform Guidelines
Uniform outerwear includes sweatshirts, sweaters, and fleeces. These items must be worn over a uniform-approved top.

- Pullover hoodie, full-zip hoodie, crewneck (hoods must remain down during school)
- Solid navy or white (no visible brand logo)
- OR any design from the WCA Spiritwear Store or WCA Land's End store

- Quarter-zip or full-zip with collar (no hood)

Uniform tops include long-sleeve or short-sleeve shirts. All uniform shirts must be clean and in good condition (not faded, stained, or worn).

Uniform bottoms include shorts, pants, skorts, and jumpers. All uniform bottoms must be neat-fitting, not tight or baggy, with no rips or holes. Side pockets and back pockets are acceptable.

Westlake does not require a specific uniform shoe. However, athletic shoes are recommended. Elementary students engage in daily outdoor play. Gym shoes are required for all students on PE days. For safety purposes, it is recommended that students wear shoes that are appropriate for the activity at hand.
Heelys and bedroom slippers are not allowed.
Purchasing Uniforms
Non-logo uniform items may be purchased from any retailer that sells items in the styles listed above. Some popular retailers are Target, Walmart, Old Navy, Kohl’s, Children’s Place, French Toast or Amazon.
A logo is not required on polos, but if you wish to purchase uniforms with a WCA logo, please visit our Land’s End school store. Our preferred school code is 900088386. If you create a Lands End account with WCA as your preferred school and add each student, you will be shown a page with pre-approved items that meet the school uniform code.
Uniform Outerwear and Uniform Tee-Shirts: Westlake hosts a spiritwear store three times a year. Uniform-approved items can be purchased through the WCA Spiritwear store. The store is open in August, November, and February, which coincides with our three sports seasons.
All outerwear items and tee-shirts in the WCA Spiritwear store are uniform-approved.
Dollar Dress Down Day
On Fridays, students may participate in Dollar Dress Down Day to benefit Student Council and the Senior Mission Trip.
To participate, students should bring $1 to class or pay for the entire year online in advance. Students must still comply with our dress-down guidelines on Fridays and other dress down days. Learn more about dress down guidelines.
