Dollar Dress Down
On Fridays, students may participate in Dollar Dress Down Day to benefit Student Council and the Senior Mission Trip.
To participate, students should bring $1 to class or pay for the entire year online in advance. All other students will be in regular school uniform. Students who pay to dress down must still comply with our dress-down guidelines on Fridays and other dress down days.
Dress Down Guidelines
Dress down days are authorized by the WCA administration team, at their discretion. Dress down guidelines apply to Dollar Dress Down Days on Fridays, as well as any other time a dress down day is approved (field trips, birthday passes, class rewards, retreats, etc.).
Adhering to the following guidelines can make these days fun and enjoyable for students and faculty.
General:
- Clothing must be neat and clean.
- Clothing which is ill-fitting, tight, or saggy, is inappropriate.
- Logos, icons, and messages on clothing which are contrary to biblical or WCA standards are not acceptable.
- Hats of any kind may be worn (bill facing forward). Hoods may not be pulled up.
- For WCA Spirit Days ONLY: temporary spray-coloring of hair (not dyeing) or temporary face-painting is acceptable for the day (i.e. yellow or blue for school colors). These days will be announced in advance.
Tops:
- Colored shirts and sweatshirts with or without logos, etc., are acceptable.
- Sleeveless shirts and dresses are allowed. No strapless tops, crop tops, off-the-shoulder tops or spaghetti-strap tops. Students should ensure modesty when wearing these tops with no undergarments visible.
Bottoms:
- The length of dresses, shorts, and skirts must be at or below the student's fingertip.
- Acceptable pants include:
- Blue jeans (no holes or rips above the knee)
- Athletic pants
- Sweatpants
- Leggings/yoga pants (with tops that ensure full coverage of the hip and buttocks area)
These guidelines may not address every style that might show up on dress down days. It is our desire at WCA to teach discernment and responsibility to our students. To do so, we allow students to make choices within a framework such as this, trusting that they will choose wisely. However, should a style not be acceptable, the student will be asked to correct it.
