Discipleship Characteristics

At Westlake, we talk about discipleship characteristics—habits and practices that shape who we are as followers of Christ and how we live out our faith in the world. These characteristics help students, teachers, and parents imagine what it means to be a disciple within God’s story and articulate a vision for how our graduates will live as culture-makers and kingdom workers.
As students engage in real work that meets real needs for real people, they learn to live as God worshippers, justice seekers, beauty creators, and more. These discipleship characteristics remind us that education is not only about what we know—it’s about who we are becoming and how we join God in restoring His world.
